When changing the name of a vehicle owner, the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has announced that tax verification and payment of fees can be done online.
Starting from July 16, 2026, the Vehicle Automatic Valuation System (VAVS) will be used to change the name of an individual registered vehicle.
You can log in to the system using your phone number at htpps://vavs.ird.gov.mm and enter the vehicle registration number and required information.
After entering, the system will automatically calculate the value and once the calculations are complete, you will have to pay the fees online.
The Inland Revenue Department is reportedly making changes to speed up the process of registering, renewing and other matters online.
