In the 2026 university entrance examination results released on June 28, only (99) students from Tachileik Township passed the exam. Of these, (5) students passed with honors in 2 subjects and (15) students passed with honors in 1 subject, while the rest passed with ordinary results.
There are 9 schools in Tachileik Township, including 3 basic high schools and 6 secondary high schools.
Tachileik Township is the third highest pass rate township in eastern Shan State with 37.22 percent in the 2026 university entrance examination. A teacher at Tachileik High School told East Thanlwin Media, “This year is more than last year, only 7 passed last year.”
The Ministry of Education announced that 255,228 students took the university entrance examination nationwide, and 133,673 passed.
