The “Albert Einstein” State Scientific High School (Liceo Scientifico Statale “Albert Einstein”) in Italy has denied that the individuals involved in a noisy disturbance on the BTS Skytrain in Bangkok, Thailand, were students from their institution. The school has also issued a warning that legal action may be taken against those who continue to spread false information.
The incident drew widespread criticism on social media after a group of Italian youths visiting Thailand on an educational trip were accused of making excessive noise on a BTS train and disturbing passengers.
The situation later appeared to settle down after the students involved and the Embassy of Italy in Thailand issued official apology statements.
However, according to a statement posted on Facebook by the “Albert Einstein” State Scientific High School located in Cerignola, none of the individuals seen in the videos or involved in the incident are enrolled at or affiliated with their school.
Furthermore, the school emphasized that the incident was in no way related to any educational trip, study program, or project organized, approved, or supported by the institution.
The school added that its core educational values prioritize respect for diverse cultures, civic responsibility, and global citizenship.
It stated that linking the school’s name to the incident without factual evidence has severely damaged the reputation of the institution, its students, and their families.
Consequently, the school warned against continuing to share unverified information and announced that it has appointed legal counsel to gather defamatory content online.
According to reports, the school affirmed that it reserves the right to pursue both civil and criminal legal action against those responsible for creating or sharing misinformation.
